Original Big Block car? Numbers match? Or is this a “restomod” kind of machine?

Numbers matching L46 car. But a built big-block will be installed soon enough. I’m not a “numbers” guy anyways.

Right the hell on!
Are you thinking 427, 454? 427s like to rev more..
Just saying.
Can’t wait for more!

It’ll be a 427. Iron block, aluminum heads/intake. I’m aiming for just north of 500 on a high-rpm solid lifter build.

There used to be a ‘70 or so T-top C3 around here that was rattlecanned in desert camo and had a bullbar on the front and fake machine gun mounted to the trunk. Just saying...

Solid roller will get you there quick with less compression. I’ve built that engine before. That’s all the unsolicited advice I’ll give.
This will be great.

I’ll take all the advice I can get! I’m very excited for this build.

I’d be willing to chime in once the car is “home”. Big Blocks are super easy with the tech modern aftermarket heads have in them. It was a lot harder 25+ years back.

I would be very grateful. I’ll make a post once it gets here but being that it’s so far from me, I won’t actually see it until late July.

Hey, just one recommendation on the big block build. I’m looking at taking the Vortec 8100 (basically a rat motor with LS technology) and giving it the full Raylar treatment (because there’s one company that does those engines and one engine that company does haha). There’s a package for 685 hp/680 lbft for $8500 and then they just released a supercharger. Just seems so straightforward and all. Anyways, that’s my new big block dream that happens to not be a pipe dream for once. Just thought I’d throw the idea out there as it’s the swan song of BBC development.

500 is easy to make without a solid lifter. Solid lifters suck, i dont know if you have ever had an engine with solid lifters, but the maintenance alone is worth not having them. You can make 500 HP falling off a log with a good hydraulic roller cam.
